By the end of the week, homes often look tired—cluttered tables, overflowing laundry, random things in random places. A simple end-of-week ritual helps reset everything for a fresher Monday.
Pick a fixed time—Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon—and set a 45–60 minute limit. Put on music, involve family if possible, and treat it like a routine, not punishment.
Start with surfaces: clear the dining table, coffee table, bed tops, and kitchen counters. Everything should either go back to its home or go into a “to-be-sorted” basket.
Next, do a quick bathroom refresh: wipe the sink, rinse the floor in high-use areas, change hand towels, and empty bins. Small changes make bathrooms feel instantly cleaner.
Gather laundry from all corners—chairs, hooks, behind doors—and move it to baskets or the washing machine. At least the clutter leaves the visible areas.
Finish with a fast sweep and mop of the main living spaces. You don’t need perfection in every corner; just aim for a general feeling of “reset”.
When Monday arrives, you’ll thank your Sunday self for doing that little bit of extra work.
