You might pick the perfect paint shade in the store and then wonder why it looks totally different at home. Lighting is often the culprit.
Cool white lights (bluish tone) can make warm colours like beige, cream or soft yellow look dull or slightly grey. They sharpen blues and greys but sometimes make spaces feel more “office-like”.
Warm white lights (yellowish tone) enhance earthy and neutral shades, making rooms feel cozy. However, they can make very cool colours like icy blue look a bit muddy.
LEDs now come in various colour temperatures. You can mix—cooler lights for work areas like kitchens and study zones, and warmer ones for living rooms and bedrooms.
CFLs and older tube lights often wash out colour subtly. LEDs with good colour rendering show paint shades more accurately.
Before finalising paint, test a sample on your wall and see it under the actual lights you plan to use. That small step saves a lot of “yeh same colour hai kya?” confusion later.
